CHS PRINCIPAL ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT
Jim Lauerman to Retire at End of 2017-18 School Year
Cushing, OK, February 23, 2018– After forty years with Cushing Public Schools, CHS Principal Jim Lauerman will be retiring at the end of the 2017-18 school year. Mr. Lauerman came to Cushing from Bixby in 1978. He served two years as high school counselor and two years as high school assistant principal before becoming principal in the 1982-83 school year.
Before becoming a school administrator, Mr. Lauerman taught social studies at Bixby High School. In addition to his teaching duties, he was also the assistant baseball coach and tennis coach. After coming to Cushing, Mr. Lauerman coached baseball at CHS for two years and served as student council sponsor for three years.
Mr. Lauerman has offered guidance and support to thousands of students who have passed through the doors of Cushing High School over the last 40 years. His influence has been and will continue to be felt throughout this community for years to come. Cushing Public Schools would like to thank Mr. Lauerman for his years of dedication to our school system.
