If you cannot find what you are looking for, or to obtain an accurate quote for any technology item — including software, web application licensing, or purchases — please email OTIS and provide the product name and, if known, the vendor you are considering.

The Office of Technology & Information Services (OTIS) oversees all technology procurement for Cushing Public Schools.
This process ensures that every purchase—whether funded by the district, a school site, or a program—meets district standards for compatibility, cybersecurity, and supportability.Working through OTIS helps staff avoid issues such as software incompatibility, network conflicts, and warranty gaps, while also providing access to district and state contract pricing.
Our team reviews every request to confirm compliance with licensing, data privacy, and cybersecurity regulations before an order is placed.All technology-related purchases, installations, and software requests should be submitted through IncidentIQ for review and coordination.

Wi-Fi connectivity across all campus buildings and outdoor instructional areas
All network infrastructure, cabling, access points, and related connectivity equipment are part of the district-managed system and must be coordinated and authorized by OTIS prior to any installation, modification, or purchase of any equipment that may cause interferrance.
This ensures network stability, security, and compliance with district and state cybersecurity requirements.
Device Management and Permissions
All district technology devices are centrally managed by the Office of Technology & Information Services (OTIS).
End users who are not part of OTIS are not granted administrative or elevated system permissions on any district-owned device.All software, application, or hardware installations must be submitted through IncidentIQ for review and completion by OTIS staff.
This policy ensures secure configurations, maintains software licensing compliance, and protects district systems and data from unauthorized changes or vulnerabilities. -

While Cushing Public Schools funds and provides all core technology systems, some program-specific or site-based technology purchases are paid for using school, program, or activity funds.
All technology purchases—regardless of funding source—should be requested through the Office of Technology & Information Services (OTIS) for review, coordination, and ordering.
This ensures that all hardware and software are compatible, secure, and properly inventoried before deployment.
Software and Digital Resources
Schools and departments may request software or online applications funded through site, program, or activity accounts.
All software purchases must be submitted to OTIS for review to verify licensing, privacy compliance, and compatibility with district systems.
Program and Activity Accounts
Program and activity funds—including CareerTech, Library, Yearbook, Agriculture Education, Athletics, and other student or department organizations—may be used for specific technology-related purchases.
These requests should still be routed through OTIS for ordering and processing.Examples include:

Classroom or program supplies purchased from Amazon, Walmart, or other vendors

Equipment and accessories used in student programs or extracurricular activities

Apple products, which must be purchased directly from Apple through OTIS
OTIS coordinates these purchases to ensure compliance with district procurement requirements, warranties, and technology standards.
The Technology Department handles all Amazon purchases for the district, excluding Maintenance Department orders.
Comprehensive Purchasing Support
OTIS staff are always available to assist with obtaining quotes, preparing order paperwork, and coordinating purchases on behalf of schools and programs to make the process simple and efficient.
In addition to technology items, OTIS also assists with ordering a variety of non-technology items to streamline district purchasing and support staff across all departments. -

To maintain consistent technology standards, ensure network security, and protect district systems and data, all technology-related purchases must be coordinated and authorized through the Office of Technology & Information Services (OTIS) before an order is placed.
Schools, departments, and programs may not independently purchase or install any hardware, software, or technology-related services without prior OTIS review and approval.
This includes purchases made with district, site, program, or activity funds.The following items are restricted and may not be purchased directly by any school, department, or program:

Network infrastructure or components (switches, routers, wireless access points, cabling, etc.)

Firewalls, filtering devices, or network management hardware
-
Printers (including inkjet or personal laser printers) without explicit OTIS authorization & coordination
-
Servers or data storage devices
-
Security or surveillance systems (cameras, door controllers, alarm panels, etc.)

Smart home or consumer “Internet of Things” devices (Alexa, Google Home, Ring, Nest, etc.)

Wireless hotspots or cellular access devices
-
Software or online applications not reviewed and approved by OTIS

Any device or product requiring administrative access or impacting district systems
All purchases of technology-related equipment or services should be submitted through IncidentIQ for OTIS coordination and approval.
